NEW IMS EVENT!! On May 20th, experience Issaquah Middle School's first ever Cultural Exchange Night
from 5:00 - 8:30 pm in the IMS Commons. Sponsored by the PTSA and supported by students and staff,
Cultural Exchange Night is designed to bring together our global community. Students, staff and families will be
able to experience the different cultures of the world through fabulous exhibits, arts and crafts activities, ethnic
food and live entertainment! Extra credit will be given by some teachers for attending and/or participating.
We would love your help! Would you like to create a display? Do you know an ethnic song or dance? Do you have traditional
dress from a country of your heritage you would like to show off? These are just a few ideas of ways to be involved and
share your culture! More ideas and information can be found
here.
For additional info and ways to get involved, please contact our Multi-Cultural chairperson
Asma Ahmed.
Please join us on May 20th for this fun and educational event!

Panther Passage:
What is Panther Passage? If you have been around IMS a while, you know it as Spring Forum. If you are new to IMS, Panther
Passage is an amazing program where all 8th grade students create a presentation about their middle school years. In their
presentations, they include information about themselves, their school work and extra-curricular activities. They may create a power point,
show you awards and ribbons, play a musical piece for you, and more! These presentations are as varied as the
students themselves! Students give this presentation to two adults who provide them with positive, written feedback.
Many adults are needed to listen and "validate" these students. "Validators" work in two-hour shifts and listen to three students.
Shifts are available throughout the school day. Panther Passage runs from May 19 - June 6, 2008.
For more information or to sign up to be a "Validator", please go to our
Panther Passage webpage or contact our Panther Passage chairpeople,
Susan Meyer and Vicki Hahn.

Boundary Review Committee: The district Boundary Review Committee began work
in February to recommend a district-wide border configuration to the School Board to ensure that all schools have the right
balance of student enrollment and resources in the future.
Every school has its principal and a parent voting representative (the IMS parent rep is Jody Mull) on the
committeee. The committee members are setting aside personal interests to find boundary solutions that are best for
the district as a whole. All meetings are open to the public, and minutes will be posted online.
The new boundaries are planned to go into effect in fall 2009, when Pacific Cascade Freshman Campus will convert to a middle school and Skyline
and Issaquah High Schools will reclaim their freshmen. The committee will have the authority to look at all boundary options.

Lunch Money: Did you know you can now pay for your student’s school
lunches online? “You can set up an automatic payment when your children are in kindergarten and never have to
worry about them coming to school without lunch money until they graduate,” according to Eric Stover, the District’s
Director of Food Services.
To enroll, go to www.MyLunchMoney.com, click on “enroll now” and
create an account. You will initially need your student’s District ID number, which is available through your
school’s registrar or secretary. If you have any questions or difficulty enrolling, call 425-837-5060.
